Get matched with a licensed proFire protection work in Pasadena spans residential sprinklers, commercial alarm tie-ins and retrofit systems in older buildings. Hydraulics, pipe sizing and head coverage are calculated — not guessed — and those calculations are what the inspector checks.
A retrofit in an occupied building means coordination with ceilings, finishes and sometimes asbestos surveys. Ask how the contractor phases work so living or business space stays usable, and who patches after head installation.
Post-installation flow tests prove heads cover the room as designed. Ask whether the contractor attends the acceptance test with the fire inspector or subcontracts that visit.
Class C-16 (Fire Protection) is the fire protection specialty — CSLB authorizes contractors to install and repair fire suppression systems. It is not a general building or plumbing licence, though coordination with both is common. Fire alarm tie-ins may need a separate low-voltage contractor even when sprinklers are in scope, so ask who wires the flow switch.
Each listed contractor holds an active Class C-16 (Fire Protection) licence at a Pasadena address. Fire work also faces local fire marshal review beyond CSLB, so ask who submits plans. Fire department connection locations must remain accessible after landscaping is finished, and the contractor should flag that during design. Hydraulic calculations should be stamped before ordering pipe because field changes are expensive.
The register does not show whether a firm designs in-house or outsources calculations. Ask who stamps the hydraulic calc package and whether it is included in the quote. Annual inspection tags on commercial systems are separate from the initial install permit, and the owner should know who services the system.
Residential sprinklers in remodels sometimes need a dedicated backflow device on the supply. Ask whether plumbing upgrades are in the fire contractor scope or a separate line item.

Licence first. References second. Reviews last. Why that order.

Plan check and inspection for suppression systems typically route through City of Pasadena and the local fire authority. The contractor should name both in the submittal schedule.
Trigger thresholds depend on project scope, occupancy and local amendments. City of Pasadena makes that call — not the contractor marketing page.
Hydraulic demand may require a meter upgrade. The fire contractor should coordinate with the water utility early in design.
