Kitchen Remodeling Contractors by city
A kitchen remodel in California pulls in more trades than almost any other room in a house. Cabinets come out, plumbing moves, circuits get added for an induction range or a second oven, and the floor usually goes down last. That sequencing is the real work. A contractor who books the countertop template before the cabinets are level will cost you two weeks and a slab.
Scope decides everything about the timeline. Replacing cabinet doors and worktops while leaving the plumbing and layout alone is a different job from moving a sink to an island, which needs new drain lines under the slab or through the joists. Ask any contractor you call to tell you which of those two jobs they think you are describing. If their answer does not match yours, you have found the gap before it turned into a change order.

Get matched with a licensed proCalifornia treats a kitchen remodel as multi-trade work, and that is exactly what Class B-2 (Residential Remodeling) is written for. CSLB defines B-2 as work on existing residential structures that calls for at least three unrelated trades — which a kitchen almost always does the moment plumbing and electrical are both in play.
Every contractor on this page holds an active Class B-2 (Residential Remodeling) licence recorded at a California address. The licence number sits on each card and links straight to the CSLB record, so you can confirm status, expiry and any disclosed history yourself before you call. That is the floor, not the finish line: the licence tells you someone is permitted to do the work, not that they are the right person for your kitchen.
What the register cannot tell you is how a contractor sequences the work, which is where kitchen projects are won or lost. Ask who orders the cabinets and when, whether the countertop is templated off installed cabinets or off drawings, and what the plan is for the week the sink is out. Specific answers mean they have done this recently. Vague ones mean the sequencing decisions get made on your job, at your cost.
Every licence number below links to its record at cslb.ca.gov, where you can confirm status and expiry yourself.

Licence first. References second. Reviews last. Why that order.
Get matched with a licensed proMost kitchen remodels involve at least three unrelated trades, which puts them under Class B-2 (Residential Remodeling). A Class B general building contractor can also perform the work. Both classifications appear on this page where the register records them at a California address.
The CSLB register currently lists 0 with an active licence in this classification at a California address. That comes straight from the register and changes as licences are issued and lapse.
Usually yes, once you move plumbing, alter circuits or change the layout. Permit requirements are set by the building department with jurisdiction over your address, not by True Local Pros, so confirm with them or ask your contractor to pull the permit as part of the job.
No. We show what the CSLB register records — classification, licence number and status — and link you to the source. We do not verify insurance, inspect work, or collect ratings. Ask each contractor for three recent references and, where you can, visit a finished job.
